My First Day of Teaching (that wasn’t free)
Aug 29th, 2006 by Mr. Higgins
Today was the day that I have been thinking about since I received the job offer via a phone conversation in April. No matter the school, there is always a large amount of administrative paperwork that goes along with moving kids between classes, but you just don’t realize how much there is to do on the first day until you give the profession a try. I’m happy with the way things went today and I was surprising nerveless during the day. I only was wound up once, when the computer accounts had a slight problem. This is a very small entry, because I have a lot to do for this opening week. I will end by saying this…
I’m going back tomorrow
P.S. I forgot about the passion that I had for teaching math until I got in the classroom today.

This blog is going to bat for Web 2.0. My name is Chris Higgins and I am a high school mathematics and computer science teacher at Norwalk High School in Ohio. I am a lifetime learner, Web 2.0 advocate, blogger, tennis coach, and a huge sports fan. Go Browns! Go Cavs! Go Tribe!

Coming back the second day is always a good sign. I have heard of cases where one day was enough. IF you have the passion though one day is never enough.
