Calling all Teachers out there…
Dec 5th, 2006 by Mr. Higgins
I’m currently a first year who has just realized something…that might save me and the way I view my the early onset of my career. The other day I noticed that my web development class was not very engaged with the concepts after 12 weeks of the 18 week course. We do HTML code, Adobe Photoshop Elements, FrontPage 2003, Blogging, and other basic discussion about the web. Thank the lord that is it a semester course because I really want to change things up next semester and I would like another teacher from anywhere to partner up with me, here is my proposal…
- I will have approximately 60 students in 3 different web development classes. One of which, is Advanced Wed Design. These will cover grades 9 to 12.
- I would like to have the course structured where there is a weekly podcast and required comments of other students podcasts.
- Where another teacher comes into play…is that we could each have the students give either the same podcasts or different podcasts and have them work with each other remotely. I really think this would benefit all involved to a large extent.
- I try and describe to the students what the internet and blogging can do for them; however, I really need something to put them over the top.
If anyone is interested in joining me, my email is higgysports@gmail.com. I’m highly motivated and have plenty of webspace available for keeping all the podcasts, images, etc.. on my webservers. I could give more detailed information about my idea upon either a comment of this blog or an email to me directly.
